A key role for a Trading Specialist has become available in the Latin American market. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing Remitly's global transaction flows within the region.

About the Role

As a member of the Treasury team, this individual will leverage their expertise to navigate complex currency pairs, engage with local partners, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage trading activities across multiple currencies in LATAM, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and develop new partnerships to enhance liquidity in the region, building strong relationships with local financial institutions.
  • Work closely with the Business Development team to negotiate favorable FX spreads and ensure fair pricing.
  • Develop and implement effective hedging strategies to minimize risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with local finance leaders to deliver strategic insights on fund flows and market conditions.
  • Partner with global trading desks to align trading strategies and ensure liquidity sourcing across regions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in FX trading, treasury management, or related fields, with a focus on Latin American markets.
  • Deep understanding of the LATAM FX ecosystem, including regulatory environments and market trends.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships with banks, financial institutions, and other partners in the region.
  • Strong negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing and access to funding sources.
  • Expertise in managing FX risk and implementing effective hedging strategies.
  • Proficiency in analyzing market data and using financial tools to inform trading decisions.
  • Experience with electronic trading platforms and algorithmic execution strategies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for remittance and FX operations in LATAM countries.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English; Spanish language skills highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Additional Information

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in digital payments and fintech innovations in Latin America.
