Cloud Field Engineering Manager Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of field engineers in the area of cloud solutions. The successful candidate will have experience in cloud computing concepts and technologies, such as Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc., and be able to work with Linux and networking.

The role involves leading and developing a team of field engineers, ranging from graduate to senior, in the areas of Presales and Professional Services. The candidate will also be responsible for solving customer problems by promoting our technologies and being a trusted advisor.

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and be able to develop and grow people. They will also have experience in leading, coaching and mentoring engineers and be organised and able to ensure their team delivers timely, high-quality results.

The Cloud Field Engineering Manager will be responsible for line management and career guidance, and will represent their team from a technical perspective. They will also drive collaboration with other teams and customers, and actively participate in technical presales to help our department achieve its quarterly goals.

  • Be an active part of the leadership team, collaborating with other leaders
  • Requirements:
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts & technologies, such as Kubernetes, Openstack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph, etc.
  • Practical knowledge of Linux and networking
  • Experience in technical presales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Passion and a track record of developing and growing people
  • Experience in leading, coaching and mentoring engineers
  • Organised and able to ensure your team delivers timely, high-quality results
  • Additional Skills:
  • Second language - Spanish or French preferred
  • Python knowledge
  • Experience collaborating with external partners
  • Experience collaborating with several internal teams and providing stakeholder feedback for engineering roadmaps
