Job Title

A highly skilled Principal Exploration Geoscientist will lead and coach others to integrate various disciplines, providing technical assistance and quality control for projects. They will diagnose complex problems, translate practices from other areas, and provide authoritative recommendations.

This role involves managing specific technical activities, working as an individual contributor, and leading a team of geoscientists. The successful candidate will be responsible for Hazards, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Risk Management, leading changes in Safety Culture, and actively driving Safety Leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead & coach others to integrate stratigraphic, sedimentological, structural, geophysical and geochemical evaluations
  • Deliver evaluations that capture the full range of subsurface realisations through geological uncertainty
  • Provide expertise to well-owners to integrate geological, geophysical and input from other disciplines into well design and operations geology
  • Diagnose and solve significant, complex and non-routine problems
  • Represent the Company as an authority in defined areas and act as a role model to develop future talent

Requirements:

  • Must have legal authorization to work in Brazil on a full-time basis
  • Must have a Bachelor's in Geology or Geophysicist. A Master's/PhD Degree is an added advantage
  • A subsurface professional with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of Regional Geology
  • Knowledge of Pre-salt and Post-salt
  • Knowledge of tools such as GeoX, Petrel and similar
  • Knowledge of 2D/3D seismic interpretation

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geophysicist
  • Master's or PhD degree is an added advantage
