Responsibilities:- Stay updated on local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, develop strategies to mitigate risks, and prevent incidents.
- Develop, implement, and enforce policies; communicate and ensure understanding and adherence.
- Develop and deliver training programs; create educational materials and promote awareness.
- Lead investigations into accidents and incidents; implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans; organize drills and exercises.
- Conduct inspections; address identified issues.
- Analyze data; prepare reports for management and authorities.
- Work closely with operations, engineering, and HR teams to integrate HSE considerations.
- Manage environmental programs; implement impact reduction strategies.
- Communicate HSE issues; foster a safety culture.
- Identify improvement opportunities; stay informed on best practices.
- Maintain accurate records for inspections and audits.
- Pursue professional development and certifications.
- Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or Environmental Science.
- 5+ years in health, safety, and environmental roles, especially in oil and gas, infrastructure construction, with experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, and HSE programs in Brazil.
- Occupational Safety Technician qualification per Brazilian legislation (NR4). Lead Auditor ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications are required.
- Relevant certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CSP, OHST, ASP, NEBOSH, OSHA 30/40-Hour are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of Brazilian HSE regulations for engineering, oil and gas, and construction sectors.
- Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English.
- Collaboration skills for effective teamwork.
- Expertise in risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to develop and implement HSE strategies and policies.
