Job Description

The Gym Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of our fitness centers, ensuring a safe and clean environment for our members. This dynamic role involves managing equipment, scheduling classes and personal training sessions, and overseeing the work of the gym staff.

A successful Gym Manager is an energetic and enthusiastic leader who creates and implements programs to engage members and drive revenue growth. Key responsibilities include:

  • Influential fitness leadership to provide high-quality fitness training and advice to members and staff.
  • Team management including recruitment, onboarding, training, payroll, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Monitoring and analyzing delivery of services to identify opportunities for quality improvement and revenue growth.
  • Ensuring all financial transactions are completed in accordance with finance procedures.
  • Collaborating with the Marketing and Events Team to promote facility services and amenities.
  • Preparing and maintaining detailed records of day-to-day operations and writing corresponding reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed as a Gym Manager, you will need:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar role in fitness, health, and wellness.
  • Trainer certification.
  • Personal training and First aid and CPR/AED certification.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety matters.
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced demanding environment.

As a Gym Manager, you must be physically fit and able to perform the following tasks:

  • Seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
  • Work on your feet for at least 10 hours.
  • Move, pull, carry, or lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Kneel, bend, crouch, and climb as required.
