Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Benefits Program Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our client team, you will provide financial and technical expertise on complex benefit programs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with medical, dental, life, disability, and optional benefits. You will contribute to analyses and projects involving these programs, developing knowledge of client complexities and managing analyst resources to deliver client deliverables.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develops knowledge of client complexities by working across different client segments and managing analyst resources to deliver client deliverables.
  • Demonstrates knowledge in benefit plan design, underwriting, and funding concepts, carrier/vendor renewals, and RFPs.
  • Serves as a key member on multiple employer client teams supporting financial analyses, outputs, and client deliverables.
  • Provides direction to mid-sized clients on benefit plan analysis, design, cost avoidance, risk, and funding strategies.
  • Reviews technical accuracy on client projects and develops pricing models, designs alternatives, and ensures reasonability.
  • Communicates financial/analytic results to drive client action.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in a benefit consulting/brokerage firm or health underwriting/actuarial function of an insurance company.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and produce quality deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of benefit program products and services, underwriting, and funding concepts.
  • Experience with traditional and flexible benefit programs, including design elements, renewal pricing, analysis, negotiations, RFP process, and analysis.
  • Strong analytical thinker with experience working with data, developing insights, and drawing conclusions.
  • Polished written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter attitude, curious, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
