Job Overview
The Import Controller is pivotal in the Global Supply Chain Organization, overseeing weekly control reports to showcase process performance and drive improvement initiatives.
This key role oversees purchasing of finished goods from external locations outside the USA, primarily for warehouses in Baltimore, Houston, and Chicago. The primary objectives include timely arrivals to meet customer commitments, accurate purchasing orders, and effective communication of delayed orders.
The Import Controller collaborates closely with business stakeholders and product management teams to develop reliable supply plans that cater to USA demand for imported materials. This demands discipline to execute activities and strategic contributions, including a deep understanding of Material Requirement Planning and Import Management.
Key responsibilities involve determining when Interco POs need to be placed with sourced Grace Plants, ensuring inventory levels prevent stockouts and overstock situations. The Import Controller will also maintain SAP MRP Master Data parameters, create SOPs and Work Instructions, and proactively follow up with Sourced Plant contacts to ensure shipments are on track.
Closely collaborating with Supply Planners and effective communication is essential to resolve material supply issues. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Administration or a related field, advanced English skills, and experience in Import Controller or similar positions within the industry.
The ideal candidate should possess strong SAP skills, Microsoft Office skills, and experience in logistics, foreign trade, and purchasing planning.
