Acute Care Physician

The role involves admission and management of acute medical patients as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP). This position requires superior clinical and communication skills, along with exceptional bedside manner. Our team members must demonstrate a commitment to the evolving specialty of hospital medicine.

This is an opportunity for experienced physicians to develop their skills in acute care hospital practice. The Hospitalist program provides 24-hr coverage, including daytime shifts and rotating overnight call shifts. Remote access allows up to 20% of patient care from home.

Eligibility: Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure with College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) and have either CCFP (or equivalent) credentials. Certification in ACLS is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Admission and management of acute medical patients
  • Developing skills in acute care hospital practice
  • Working collaboratively with all members of the inter-professional team

Qualifications:

  • FRCPC or CCFP
  • ACLS
  • CPSBC Full license or eligible
