We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Scientific Editor to join our Science, Technology and Medical Journal (STMJ) division. As a key member of our Author Heroes team, you will play a crucial role in supporting researchers in scholarly publication.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate content as a partner to external editors, ensuring that manuscripts meet the journal's quality and scope standards.
- Iteratively improve the editorial process for editors and reviewers, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for authors.
- Engage closely with authors to help them improve their manuscripts, providing guidance and support to increase their chances of publication.
- Help authors increase their odds of success by identifying areas for improvement and suggesting alternative journals.
- PhD in Social Sciences discipline(s), with a strong background in economics.
- Experimental, results-driven, and enthusiastic work attitude.
- Record of having published papers in scientific journals.
- Technology savvy, familiar with online platforms, social media, and digital content.
- Excellent communication skills and written and spoken English.
- Relationship builder and self-starter, able to build relationships within the scientific community and within Elsevier.
