About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Scientific Editor to join our team in Economics and Social Sciences. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in evaluating content, improving the editorial process, and engaging with authors to help them improve their manuscripts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate content as a partner to external editors, ensuring it meets the journal's aims and scope.
  • Iteratively improve the editorial process for editors and reviewers, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Engage closely with authors to help them improve their manuscripts, providing guidance and support.
  • Help authors increase their odds of success by identifying suitable journals for their work.
Requirements
  • PhD in Social Sciences discipline(s), with a focus on economics.
  • Experimental, results-driven, and enthusiastic work attitude.
  • Record of having published papers in scientific journals.
  • Technology savvy, familiar with online platforms, social media, and digital content.
  • Good communication skills and excellent written and spoken English.
  • Relationship builder and self-starter, able to build relationships within the scientific community and within Elsevier.
  • Broad scientific interest and desire to serve and help customers in the scientific and clinical community.
