Job Overview

The Assistant Deli Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our deli department. They work closely with the Deli Manager to maintain high standards of product freshness, foster strong relationships with customers, and drive sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate teamwork to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and a pleasant working environment.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by being approachable, efficient, and responsive to customer needs.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and respond to questions and requests in a timely manner.
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently according to established guidelines.
  • Maintain high levels of product knowledge and operational execution.
  • Assist with product presentation, rotation, labeling, and replenishment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure an in-stock position of available product.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, and scheduling processes.
Requirements:
  • Able to develop and train team members, build meaningful relationships, and utilize skills effectively.
  • Able to provide top-notch customer service and manage warehouse operations efficiently.
  • Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and understandably, and listen attentively to others.
  • Able to operate all necessary equipment and perform basic functions on handheld scanners, desktop computers, and calculators.
Work Environment:
  • Frequent exposure to cold/freezing temperatures.
  • Equipment in motion (forklifts, electric pallet jacks, scooters).
