Operational Risk Manager Role

The job holder acts as a second line of defense, providing risk coverage for our legal entities including its Investment Bank and Wealth Management businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent holistic risk coverage, review and challenge of the implementation of the Non-Financial Risk Framework (NFRF), best-practice, policies, and processes for the business unit in line with NFR deliverables.
  • Develop a front-to-back view of operational risk for the business unit with an understanding of end-to-end processes.
  • Support and challenge where necessary the business division with content and advice throughout the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process.
  • Perform operational risk thematic reviews / deep dives and capability assessments to identify control gaps and remediation.
  • Attend and actively engage in standing business partnership and control meetings focusing on identification of emerging and existing risks, escalation/highlight issues, mitigation and remediation.

**Your Qualification and Skills**

  • A high performer with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Practical knowledge of the principles and approaches for operational risk management.
  • Significant experience in a similar role or from a business, middle office or control function.
  • Evidence of acting in a 'trusted advisor' capacity to deliver challenge and sound opinion.
  • Proven track record of managing business partners across multiple business functions/lines and developing positive working relationships with senior business partners.
  • Detailed knowledge of investment banking products, processes and systems.
