About Power Market Research
The primary objective of this role is to assist in developing and operating models, databases, and reports for a growing power service. This involves collecting market information and intelligence, analyzing data to generate insights, and building analytical models to create forecasts.
Main Responsibilities:- Contribute to market research for long-term and short-term power market outlooks in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, and Colombia.
- Support the development and improvement of proprietary models that underpin market coverage.
- Develop and maintain forecast models and data sets across verticals within the power and renewables sector.
- Verify the alignment of databases with official figures from local sources, including national energy balances, energy regulatory agency reports, system operators, and market operators.
- Draft portions of written analysis based on gathered data and insights.
- Recent graduate or up to 2 years of industry experience in the power sector.
- Quantitative background and degree (e.g., economics, finance, engineering).
- Programming skills include SQL, VBA, and Python.
- Knowledge of Brazil's wholesale power market structure and operation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and interest in using qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Superb communication skills and ability to interact with internal teams.
