Mainframe System Administrator

Maintain, support and enhance the z environment including z/OS Storage Management, Configuration, z/OS Performance, Capacity and Networking tools to ensure seamless operation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support using problem determination and problem source identification skills;
- Collaborate with other support operations/organizations to prioritize and diagnose problems to resolution;
- Recommend and implement optimization and automation to existing technical support tools, procedures and processes and implement new tools;
- Develop and train others on the team;
- Deep knowledge in z/OS Base, z/Storage or z/Config support in mainframe environment;
- Experience in Cloud Infrastructure and Knowledge of Network technologies;
- Ability to solve complex problems and have experience in installation, configuration, high availability, root cause analysis, performance tuning, security and compliance activities;
- Global team experience with people from several locations;
- Data Center Management and Migrations expertise;
- Disaster Recovery and Modernization experience;
- Autonomy to work without supervision targeting to achieve agreed-upon goals and an innovative mindset;
- Lead z/OS infrastructure design discussions and plan/implement;
- Fluent English written/spoken.
- Identify points of improvement in technical processes and propose new ways to do it through automation;
- Resolve customer pain points and define solutions that improve operational efficiency;
- Preferred Technical Experience includes JES3, REXX programming, Ansible experience on Mainframe, Zowe, ZOAU and R3S knowledge;
- zOS Middleware (DB2, IMS) or Base/Storage/TWS/Network/Netview systems management/support experience;
- Automation and execution of tests/automation of new workloads experience.
This position requires a proactive approach to improving technical processes and identifying areas for automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, networking and cloud computing, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
