Cost Control Specialist Job Description

Our organization seeks a skilled Cost Control Specialist to drive financial efficiency and accuracy across various business operations. This role will focus on optimizing inventory management, financial forecasting, and cost accounting.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop visibility and improvements in inventory accounting and financial forecast by understanding operational tools and ERP interactions, driving stock accounting visibility and analytics, providing accurate and timely forecasts, performing inventory accounts reconciliation, ensuring accuracy of cost data and inventory valuation, and supporting audit requirements.
  • Control materials obsolescence and FIFO calculation, inventory accruals for revenue recognition under the ASC 606 policy, month-end close tasks in the USGAAP and BRGAAP books, and MJE posting.
  • Consolidate, analyze, and report project costs and other variable costs through coordination of operational inputs and reconciliation with the Project Controller, provide ad-hoc costing assistance to Project/Commercial teams when required.
  • Forecast hours load of the Variable Costs workforce, identify productivity opportunities, interface with HR team in variable workforce projection, responsible for variable costs pacing, coordinating meetings with the cost center owners, and driving cost-out initiatives.
  • Provide financial support for the inventory sales initiative: ensure progress of tasks, perform accounting, and drive report meetings for leadership.
  • Coordinate yearly inventory audits alongside the supply chain team and external auditors to ensure accurate accounting practices.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • SAP FI / CO / MM expertise.
  • Advanced or fluent English speaker.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
  • Previous experience analyzing variances would be beneficial.
