Surgical Coordinator Job Summary">

This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of surgery, including scheduling, pre-certification and paperwork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling surgeries for assigned locations to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinating outside testing for patients to guarantee timely diagnoses.
  • Obtaining pre-authorization for surgeries to avoid delays.
  • Communicating with doctors regarding schedule changes to maintain effective collaboration.
  • Explaining insurance benefits and financial responsibilities to patients to promote transparency.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent as a minimum educational requirement.
  • At least 2 years' experience in surgical scheduling to possess relevant expertise.
Physical and Cognitive Demands:
  • Lifting or moving up to 15 pounds at times requires physical stamina.
  • Working with data, calculating and manipulating numbers necessitates strong analytical skills.
  • Verbal communication, listening and processing information demands excellent interpersonal skills.
