The Engineering Product Specialist collaborates closely with operations, including manufacturing, supply chain, quality assurance, and warranty support. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, this role also involves the creation of comprehensive drawings, assembly schematics, bills of materials, and parts code management in accordance with industry standards such as API 682, API 614, and ASME Section XIII Division 1, as well as adhering to customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in bid support activities by conducting preliminary engineering assessments to define technical scope, resource requirements, and risk evaluations.
- Analyze design specifications received from order transfer documentation.
- Execute detailed layout and mechanical design tasks, including performing engineering calculations and simulations.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison for customers, providing guidance to clarify design specifications.
- Coordinate engineering resources and manage activities across various projects.
- Offer technical assistance to the supply chain by reviewing supplier documentation and purchasing drawings.
- Support production efforts by advising on specification deviations and other necessary activities.
- Review quality assurance plans.
- Provide commissioning and warranty assistance as needed.
- Validate the complete technical documentation package to ensure product performance meets customer expectations and recommend modifications when required.
- Ensure compliance with technical job requirements.
- Adhere to project timelines for engineering documentation and secure initial approvals.
- Maintain customer satisfaction through accuracy and promptness in documentation issuance.
- Facilitate rework or resubmission documentation in agreed cycles to achieve approvals.
- Address non-conformance reports related to specification issues with clients.
Qualifications:
- A degree in engineering or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in 3D/2D design software, including Inventor, Solidworks, and AutoCad.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Excellent collaborative skills.
- Basic understanding of project management tools and methodologies.
- Proven ability to execute tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of analysis tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Intermediate proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in the English language.
- Familiarity with mechanical seals, rotating machinery, and auxiliary systems (API).
