Courier Driver

Job Summary:

As a Courier Driver at FedEx, you will be responsible for making efficient and safe deliveries and collections of parcels and freight, while representing the company in a professional manner. You will operate smaller and larger cargo vehicles safely and efficiently, complying with all government and corporate procedures. Your duties will include making accurate and timely selections and inspections of assigned packages, reporting stop and failure counts, and seeking additional business from current customers. You will also answer customer questions on FedEx features of service and keep customers informed about the company and its services. Additionally, you will ensure that packages conform to FedEx features of service, that proper labeling is provided, and that all paperwork is complete, neat, and accurate. You will determine the legality of packages, including special requirements for dangerous goods and international shipments, and separate packages by service type and destination in accordance with established procedures. You will also scan packages according to prescribed procedures and demonstrate proficiency in features of service and equipment. You will ensure that customers have adequate supplies of FedEx materials for shipping, meet aircraft, and transport packages as required for sorting operations. You will load and unload company vehicles and operate mechanized ramp equipment to load and unload packages. You will also clean, wash, and perform minor maintenance to company vehicles as necessary and maintain a neat and clean personal appearance to uphold the company's public image.

Requirements:
Minimum Education: Elementary School diploma. Basic English skills preferred. Minimum Experience: One (1) year professional driving experience. Must possess appropriate license for vehicle assigned in accordance with specific country regulations. Good driving record. Must be 21 years old or older. Minimum Required Skills: Driver's License Type C, D or E Vintage. Ability to lift 70 lbs. (32kgs) and to maneuver packages weighing up to 150 lbs. (68kgs) with appropriate equipment. Good verbal and writing communication skills, human relations, and team player. Must be able to successfully complete Reading, Map Reading, Sorting, and math sections of the Basic Skills Test. Customer orientated with good organizational skills. Problem Solving Skills. Accuracy & Attention to Detail. Planning & Organizing Skills. Team Working Skills. Must be able to work variable shifts.
