Job Title: Budget Specialist IIDescription:

The role of a Budget Specialist II is to prepare country site budgets and study financial appendices, assist in the negotiation of Site agreement budgets and financial exhibits of a certain complexity, with minimal support from the line manager or senior staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  2. Manage assigned country budget related activities in a professional manner, with careful compliance with internal processes and procedures.
  3. With minimal support, responsible for management of certain financial aspects of clinical studies, including post-award study budget estimates, review of proposals, and elaborating investigator grants.
  4. Budget Development and Management
  • Develops baseline site country budgets, supports site specific budget preparation, delivers study specific budget training, reviews and approves site budgets, and processes financial language/appendix in site agreements in a commercially reasonable manner.
Timely updates the departmental contract tracking system.Communication and Collaboration
  • Provides management with regular status updates, collaborates with study teams to avoid delays, identifies and escalates issues that must be escalated to line managers, project management staff, Business Development staff, Budgets & Proposals staff, or higher management as necessary.
Supports line managers with departmental goals, objectives, and initiatives as assigned.Process Improvement
  • Supports line managers with departmental process improvement suggestions and deployment.
