Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced senior data architect to lead data strategy and architecture for a high-impact startup. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex data challenges and enjoys working with cutting-edge tools in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric (Synapse, OneLake, etc.)
  • Develop scalable pipelines with Azure Data Factory
  • Optimize data performance using Delta/Parquet, partitioning, and Spark
  • Model data into easy-to-use structures (star schema, dimensional modeling)
  • Ensure governance and security with Purview, RBAC, ACLs, and related frameworks
  • Automate deployments with CI/CD for data pipelines
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and business stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in data engineering/architecture at a principal-level
  • Deep Microsoft expertise: Fabric, Synapse, OneLake (1+ year)
  • Hands-on experience:
  • Azure Data Factory (2+ years)
  • Delta/Parquet optimization, Spark (5+ years)
  • Dimensional modeling / Star schema (5+ years)
  • Data governance & security (3+ years)
