Product Manager Job Description

The Principal Product Manager leads the growth of RAIN RFID solutions and service offerings. This individual defines the product roadmap, manages embedded software, RFID services, cloud APIs, and intelligent data models.

Responsibilities include leading delivery of firmware and edge intelligence on readers, reader ICs, gateways, and mobile devices. The Product Manager partners with engineering and data science to productize models turning raw RFID signals into real-time insights.

This role engages with Fortune-500 enterprise customers and partners to define requirements and validate product-market fit. The Product Manager works cross-functionally to launch services, drive adoption, and communicate value to customers, developers, and system integrators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage the product roadmap for RFID services and cloud APIs.
  • Lead delivery of firmware and edge intelligence on readers, reader ICs, gateways, and mobile devices.
  • Partner with engineering and data science to develop models turning RFID signals into real-time insights.
  • Engage with customers and partners to define requirements and validate product-market fit.
  • Drive adoption and communication of value to customers, developers, and system integrators.
Requirements

The ideal candidate has 12+ years of experience in product management, preferably in embedded systems, cloud platforms, SaaS or IoT services. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.

Excellent communication skills are necessary, along with experience aligning engineering and business teams. The Product Manager must have experience building and scaling software offerings from firmware to cloud APIs to data pipelines. A strong technical foundation in wireless, edge computing, or sensing technologies is also required.

Familiarity with RAIN RFID, real-time event processing, or sensor data platforms is desired. Experience with AI/ML-driven features, cloud deployment, and enterprise integrations is an asset.
