Product Strategist Role

This position involves spearheading the development and success of software products or features. The product strategist bridges various teams, such as engineering, design, marketing, and business stakeholders.

The role oversees strategy, technical, and marketing aspects throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the entire product development cycle from initial definition to general availability (GA), ensuring quality and schedule.
  • Understanding the overall market, competitors, and open-source technologies.
  • Translating market and stakeholder needs into product requirements and definitions.
  • Eliciting detailed business requirements through engaging workshops and clear functional design documents.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to guide feature development and prioritization.
  • Translating user requirements into executable and workable feature items with the software engineering team.
  • Acting as an advocate for stakeholders during specification and development stages.
  • Leading all business readiness activities, including end-user training, product testing, and rollout.
  • Driving process changes based on robust analysis of operational data and user behavior.

Education and experience:

Recommended:

• Four-year or graduate degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related discipline, or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

• Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in product management, digital or software product development, or a related field, or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
