About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Statutory Accounting Compliance Specialist to join our team at Expedia, Inc. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of statutory accounts for our international entities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Statutory Accounting Compliance: Prepare and review statutory accounts and audit files for various international entities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  2. External Auditor Liaison: Liaise with external auditors, coordinate the collection of data and explanations, and prepare audit files to support these.
  3. Team Collaboration: Interact with other teams, including finance and non-finance, and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate information for statutory account preparation.
  4. International Tax Support: Work closely with the International Tax team on corporation tax issues related to our international companies.
  5. Process Improvement: Play a key role in onboarding Group companies into our global accounting processes, documenting process flows, establishing relationships with external advisors, and identifying efficiency improvements.
  6. Ad Hoc Projects: Assist the VAT team in reviewing returns and posting journals as needed, and participate in other ad hoc projects to support the accounting department.
Requirements
  1. Accounting Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting with an active CRC.
  2. Big 4 Experience: Big 4 accounting experience preferred.
  3. Language Skills: Fluency in English is mandatory, and fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  4. Technical Skills: Oracle ERP knowledge required, with experience in the GL module and AP.
  5. Soft Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  6. Experience: +8 years of experience in the accounting area.
