Job Description

As a Materials Control Supervisor, you will play a critical role in the management of material entering, storing, and shipping from our facility. You will be responsible for overseeing the materials team, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and driving process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of leadership and change management. They will also possess attention to detail skills and be able to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assume responsibility of the materials team and familiarize yourself with all procedures associated with each department
  • Manage all materials movements throughout the facility
  • Set goals on performance and safety standards
  • Ensure that there are adequate supplies, tools, and equipment for your teams to be successful
  • Align with the Master Schedule in setting priorities and workload for departments
  • Monitor employee productivity
  • Commitment to cycle count accuracy
  • Oversee internal and external audits of the materials group
  • Support customer oversight requirements
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Consistently evaluate for areas to improve within both departments
  • Take ownership of coaching and developing the staff and recruit for staff as appropriate
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Must be a sole U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain security clearances
  • Associate degree or equivalent and 5 plus years of experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Self-starter, goal oriented, customer focused, detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to problem solve and overcome scheduling challenges
  • Lean and/or Six-Sigma experience and knowledge is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to energize and build consensus with staff, peers, and direct reports
  • Ability to take ownership of the department and improve its processes continuously
