About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Analyst to join our Public, Project and Infrastructure Finance (PPIF) team in Sao Paulo. As a key member of our Latin American team, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth credit analysis on a portfolio of infrastructure companies, project finance transactions, and regional/local governments rated by Moody's in Latin America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantitative assessments of financial statements and economic/market data, as well as intensive analysis of bond indentures, liquidity agreements, official statements, and other legal documents.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Latin American market, including economic, fiscal, and political developments.
  • Formulate and present credit opinions to rating committees, communicate and defend analysis during internal meetings, and write accurate and insightful press releases.
  • Build and maintain high-profile relationships with investors and issuers, interacting frequently based on industry and topical research written.
  • Develop Moody's franchise through intermediary marketing and visibility initiatives, such as conference participation.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of credit/risk assessment experience gained from a financial institution, asset management, or audit firm.
  • Strong academic background, with a minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, International Relations, Public Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Well-developed analytical skills, with strong attention to detail, strong written and oral communication capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects and work closely with others as well as independently.
  • Bi-lingual in English-Portuguese is essential. Command of a third language - Spanish - would be advantageous.
