Procurement Leader

The Procurement Leader will oversee the procurement process for electrical construction projects, including sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships. This role requires a strong understanding of the electrical construction industry, excellent negotiation skills, and a focus on cost-effectiveness and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sourcing and procuring electrical materials, equipment, and components from qualified suppliers is essential for this role.
  • Negotiating favorable pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to optimize cost-effectiveness is critical.
  • Conducting market research to identify reliable suppliers and maintaining a comprehensive supplier database is necessary.
  • Preparing and issuing purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery is key.
  • Monitoring and tracking purchase order status, resolving any discrepancies or delays is crucial.
  • Collaborating with project managers and engineers to identify procurement requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials is vital.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, addressing any issues or concerns proactively is essential.
  • Implementing cost-saving initiatives, such as bulk purchasing, value engineering, and supplier consolidation is beneficial.
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels and managing stock levels to avoid shortages or excesses is necessary.
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and procurement best practices is important.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures is helpful.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement in the electrical construction industry is required.
  • A strong understanding of electrical materials, equipment, and industry standards is necessary.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
  • A strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is crucial.
