Reconstruction Estimator Job Overview
About the RoleIn this highly rewarding position, you will work closely with clients to investigate and evaluate property claims in a timely and professional manner. Your exceptional analytical skills will be essential in determining claim-related damages, making informed decisions within delegated authority, and applying appropriate claims practices.
Key Responsibilities- Handles assigned claims effectively, minimizing the need for direction and oversight.
- Inspect damaged properties, identifying damage and making accurate assessments.
- Makes decisions within delegated authority, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Understands insurance coverage, applying relevant claims practices to resolve claims efficiently.
- Sets and relays adequate reserves according to carrier guidelines.
- Maintains current knowledge of insurance policies, carrier guidelines, local industry repair procedures, and local market pricing.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma required.
- Valid adjuster license for the state of residence/coverage.
- Valid driver's license for travel to insured locations.
- 2-3 years of experience in property claims, including estimating with Xactimate and Symbility.
- Knowledge of insurance policies, theories, and practices.
- General understanding of construction concepts and principles (strongly preferred).
This role requires the ability to climb ladders, access attics/crawlspaces, get on roofs, kneel, bend, and perform other physically demanding tasks as needed.
