About the Role

You will be at the forefront of developing and maintaining a cutting-edge microservice architecture, enabling seamless integration of new capabilities as the business grows. As a technical leader, you will take full ownership of the codebase, drive project management, and oversee security and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Project Management: Oversee weekly sprint reviews, identify blockers, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Hands-on Coding: Develop clean features in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python, refactor for speed and reliability.
  • AI Engineering: Integrate and fine-tune GPT-4 (and future models), build retrieval pipelines for accurate real-time data.
  • Security Champion: Enforce least-privilege IAM, encryption everywhere, and robust audit logging.
  • Troubleshooting & Reliability: Monitor logs, debug incidents, conduct blameless post-mortems, and maintain high uptime.
  • Team Building: Create job specs, hire within our time-zone band, mentor engineers, and foster healthy remote habits.
Requirements

We seek an experienced engineer with:

  • 7+ years building web software, including 2+ years leading or mentoring engineers—ideally in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js, Next.js) or Python, with comfort in the other stack.
  • Familiarity with ML/AI libraries (LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers, etc.) and enthusiasm for putting AI in production.
  • Proven project-management skills—scope, plan, deliver.
  • Security-first mindset and habit of writing clean, testable code.
  • Clear written English; overlap New York 4–6 hours daily; live between UTC-8 and UTC-3.
