Project Manager for Schools in Brazil

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a coding competition for secondary students in Brazil. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, management, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of the project, working closely with stakeholders to ensure its success.

Main Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the project's implementation in Brazil, ensuring alignment with the global project strategy and objectives.
  • Nurture and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including schools, teachers, and partners, to ensure strong collaboration and support.
  • Oversee the project's budget, ensuring effective management and reporting of expenditure, and meeting financial targets.
  • Identify opportunities for program development and expansion, building on lessons learned and stakeholder feedback.
  • Ensure project compliance with British Council internal processes and policies, as well as FCDO's processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on project risks, identifying mitigation strategies and ensuring timely action is taken to address any issues.
  • Work collaboratively with the Communications and Digital teams to showcase the project's impact and achievements.
  • Support the development and implementation of M&E plans, including databases, data collection, outcome, and impact evaluation.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including schools, teachers, and partners, to ensure strong collaboration and support.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in project development and management, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality work to deadline.
  • Experience managing programme budgets effectively, including planning and forecasting of expenditure.
  • Supported management of risks within projects, including mitigation strategies for activities.
  • Experience working with schools and developing partnerships.
  • Portuguese and English (both written and spoken) at IELTS level 6.0 / CEFR B2 or equivalent.
  • Degree and/or equivalent and/or equivalent experience.
