Job Description

The Center Director will lead the Organization's technical cooperation on Veterinary Public Health, focusing on eliminating Foot-and-Mouth Disease and promoting food safety. The incumbent will provide strategic guidance, manage programs, and collaborate with partners to achieve organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical cooperation on veterinary public health, ensuring alignment with One Health principles.
  • Manage and execute programs, including field interventions, research, training, and information dissemination.
  • Provide expertise and leadership in food safety and control/elimination of FMD and zoonotic diseases.
  • Advise on inter-programmatic work across the Organization, ensuring efficient resource use and alignment with biennium work plans.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Essential: University degree in veterinary medical science, and a master's degree in public health or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Desirable: Doctoral degree in a public health-related area.
  • Experience: Thirteen years of progressively increased responsibilities in national and international management, with experience designing, planning, executing, and evaluating technical cooperation related to public and animal health.
Languages and IT Skills

Very good knowledge of English and Spanish with a working knowledge of another language.
