Public Relations Manager- Brazil

We are seeking a seasoned Public Relations professional to join our team in Brazil. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive PR strategy to position BlaBlaCar as a key player in the Brazilian mobility space.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Plan, execute and measure the success of all Public Relations projects and activities, in sync with local marketing and government relations teams and support from an external agency.
    • Establish BlaBlaCar as an innovative, trustworthy and sustainable way of traveling that defines the future of mobility through proactive and reactive media relations strategies.
    • Develop content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations.
    • Manage external public relations agencies on strategy and day-to-day matters.
    • Stay informed on trends, issues and news about both the business and consumer worlds of mobility and technology.
    • Devise and implement comprehensive communication tactics that build buzz and awareness for the bus marketplace.
    • Represent BlaBlaCar as an external spokesperson (press inquiries and speaking engagements at conferences/panel discussions/symposiums).
    • Handle and supervise short-term reactive communications in case of crisis.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience with communications and press relations, preferably working with startups.
  • Ability to translate high-level goals into an effective PR strategy and execute it.
  • Relevant personal network in media and press.
  • Spotless Portuguese writing skills: ability to produce clear, compelling and impactful content.
  • Capacity to work autonomously with tight deadlines; fast learner.
  • Resilience: ability to learn from failure, capacity to bounce back.
  • Good presentation/spokesperson skills.
  • Fluent communication skills in English and Portuguese, Spanish is a plus.
