About the Role
You will work closely with local teams to provide subject matter expertise to the different lines of business regarding direct and indirect taxes and tax withholdings. Supporting tax advisory on day-to-day initiatives and new products for Brazil.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the product and business and assess all tax aspects of new business lines and initiatives in Brazil.
- Work closely with local teams to provide subject matter expertise to the LOBs for global tax requirements including Value-Added Tax, Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax, self-assessed taxes, supplier and customer tax withholding, payments, etc.
- Support in tax advisory on day-to-day initiatives and new products.
- Support management in completing special tax projects, ad-hoc reporting and tax analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned.
- Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility.
- Provide insights to core business teams on tax impacts.
- Close the loop between tax and business teams with data for decision-making.
- Keep track of new products or initiatives and alignment with regional leadership.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law.
- 5+ years of experience in Big 4 or law firm experience strongly preferred with in-house background, ideally in a multinational corporation.
- International tax operations knowledge and familiarity with tax issues for a multinational company operating globally.
- Bilingual in data and storytelling, able to translate technical analysis into a human narrative.
- Data-driven with business judgment and experimentation to measure the impact of taxes on growth and profitability.
- Ability to take initiative in a constantly changing work environment.
- Strong organizational, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Advanced English proficiency and fluent Portuguese are required.
