Site Operations Leader

About the Role

The Site Operations Leader is a pivotal role responsible for steering continuous improvement and optimization of all processes within the plant. This individual will lead a team to oversee production, maintenance, and safety, ensuring compliance with quality systems and customer expectations.

This leader must be a people-person with excellent communication and collaboration skills, effective in both internal and external stakeholder relationships. They are expected to care about their assets, employees, company, and community while being innovative and resourceful in contributing to the prosperity of people and planet.

The position reports to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Health, Environment, Safety, and Quality (HESQ) and Production and is based in the region of Santos, São Paulo, Brazil.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a vision/strategy (road map) for present and future operations, aligning with business objectives.
  • Achieve operational excellence by continuously improving overall site performance.
  • Propose, defend, and implement the Business Plan for the coming year, focusing on strategic growth and reliability.
  • Prioritize and ensure site adherence to legal regulations and Yara's HESQ policies.
  • Establish site-specific policies and procedures, aligned with the framework set by the Yara Steering System.
  • Meet annual volumes and fixed cost targets by ensuring reliable and systematic operations.
  • Analyze the need for investments and propose projects in adherence to the Capital Value Process.
  • Ensure excellent cooperation within the region on best practices and initiatives, promoting synergies.
  • Nurture good relationships with unions and/or employee representatives, fostering a positive climate for industrial relations.
  • Promote good social citizenship with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, authorities, media, local communities, etc.
  • Secure workforce and succession planning, focusing on talent development and critical positions.
  • Lead and support the development of all direct reports, maximizing competencies and alignment to business demands.
  • Embody a learning attitude, remaining curious and seeking relevant information to excel in technical and people-related topics.
  • Acknowledge and encourage a good work/private life balance.
