Job Overview:

The Underwriting Analyst will review and complete underwriting and credit analysis of applications by applying sound underwriting judgment and adhering to established policies.

This role involves reviewing potential and existing merchants from a risk, regulatory, and compliance perspective.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate adherence to established rules and regulations.
  2. Perform thorough underwriting and risk assessment of new and existing customers.
  3. Calculate financial risk exposure and implement relevant risk mitigation measures.
  4. Setup processes and monitor checks related to merchant onboarding and monitoring.
  5. Evaluate existing procedures to refine and optimize merchant onboarding and monitoring processes.
  6. Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders regarding merchant onboarding.
  7. Support periodical reviews and audits.
  8. Continuously improve processes and share best practices.
Main Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
  1. At least 3 years of experience in acquiring and merchant underwriting.
  2. Understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), Payment Card Industry (PCI), and Internal Controls.
  3. Solid practical knowledge of credit risk assessment.
  4. Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask.
  5. Able to work independently while being a strong collaborator.
  6. Take initiative, ownership, and commit to challenging the status quo.
  7. A self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Analytical skills to identify and assess potential fraud and compliance issues.
  10. Demonstrated skills in risk assessment and the ability to escalate when appropriate.
