Senior Care Assistant Job

We are seeking qualified care professionals to add to our team of senior care assistants at a long term care facility.

The primary objective of the Senior Care Assistant is to provide quality care to residents, ensuring their physical, mental and psychosocial well-being in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting patients with low mobility with bathing and grooming.
  • Preparing patient rooms with necessary items such as blankets, pillows, medical equipment and bathroom needs.
  • Helping patients eat and take medications in line with their personalized care plans.
  • Ensuring regular meals and proper medication dosages for all residents.
  • Monitoring patient behavior and reporting it to the nursing and medical staff as required.
  • Providing assistance with mobility needs including transferring patients from wheelchair to bed.
  • Rotating or adjusting patients in bed to prevent bedsores and discomfort.

Requirements:

  • Current certification by the state as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • One year geriatric experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • CPR or BLS certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. It is essential to maintain current certification during employment.
