We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Specialist to join our operations team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in supporting lab operations and maintaining the efficient functioning of our laboratory infrastructure.

The selected candidate will have experience working in research laboratories and familiarity with lab routines. We value motivated individuals with a collaborative mindset and a strong interest in working in a dynamic and innovation-driven environment.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and sterilize culture media, solutions, materials, and reagents for experiments.
  • Wash, dry, and organize labware and glassware, ensuring their availability and proper reuse in laboratory routines.
  • Support research teams in the execution of experimental activities, including organizing materials (labels, identification plates, sampling bags etc.) and assisting with procedures in the lab and greenhouse.
  • Collaborate with the organization and logistics of support materials for conducting field sampling experiments.
  • Understand the operation of laboratory equipment and supporting their maintenance, ensuring functionality and integrity.
  • Assist in the organization of refrigerated storage areas (such as refrigerators and freezers), ensuring proper storage of supplies and samples.
  • Help organize and control inventory of supplies, reagents, and consumables, ensuring timely restocking and appropriate storage.
  • Contribute to the upkeep and physical organization of the laboratory.
  • Assist teams in daily activities to ensure high standards of scientific quality and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), protocols, and safety principles.
  • Contribute to the company's success with new insights and ideas

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Agronomy, Microbiology, or related fields, or professional experience in any of these areas.
  • Experience in preparing culture media and solutions, and handling basic Microbiology or Molecular Biology lab equipment, such as pH meters, scales, and autoclaves.
  • Strong sense of organization, attention to detail, and effective communication skills, with the ability to maintain a well-structured work environment, follow procedures precisely, and collaborate clearly and efficiently with the team.
  • Knowledge of general procedures and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), demonstrating familiarity with laboratory standards and guidelines.
  • Previous training or coursework in Biosafety, including understanding of safety principles in laboratory environments, handling of microorganisms, and proper disposal of biological waste.
