Security Operations Lead

Project Overview:

The client is a community banking institution in the United States, developing a digital banking platform utilizing Mulesoft for integrations and Salesforce for back-office operations. Our team is dedicated to establishing connections between various SaaS solutions provided by the client. Currently, the project is in its early phases, focusing on system investigation, process establishment, and critical decision-making regarding Mulesoft, Data, DevOps, and Salesforce components.

The project team comprises 15 professionals, including specialists in Mulesoft, Salesforce, DevOps, QA (both manual and automated), Data, Business Analysis, Solution Architecture, Scrum Master, Project Management, and Security Analysis.

A segment of the team operates on the client’s premises, including leads in Mulesoft, DevOps, and Data, along with product managers and owners. The team operates within the European time zone, while the client is based in the Eastern Standard Time zone.

Methodology:

The project employs Scrum methodology, featuring two-week sprints, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and planning sessions.

Technology Stack:

The tools and technologies utilized in this project include AWS, Azure DevOps, BitBucket, Jira, Confluence, and Teams.

Role of the Security Analyst:

The Security Analyst is currently tasked with evaluating various tools intended for project use to ensure security compliance, developing security documentation, planning future security audits, and integrating security requirements into the development lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 6 years of experience in a Security Analyst or Engineer role;
  • Proficient understanding of Cloud security (specifically AWS), data security, network security, identity and access management, policy management, and risk management;
  • In-depth knowledge of Information Technology, including Active Directory, Firewalls, Routers, Infrastructure, Databases, Logging, Monitoring, Change Management, Cybersecurity, Physical Security, IT operations, Network Security, SIEM, DLP, EDR, and Cloud Computing;
  • Strong expertise in API security;
  • Experience in securing public-facing internet services;
  • Knowledge of threat hunting;
  • Familiarity with PCI and SOC2 Standards;
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python;
  • General IT and Computer Networking knowledge is preferred;
  • Ability to establish security processes from the ground up;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Capability to operate in both blue team and red team environments;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently;
  • Valid security certifications;
  • Upper-intermediate English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in penetration testing;
  • AWS certification;
  • CISSP or CISA certifications are highly preferred; other relevant certifications will be considered;
  • Ethical hacking certifications (CEH, GPEN, CompTIA Pentest+, OSCP);
  • Experience in code security analysis;
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and SAST or SCA security tools;
  • Experience with Mulesoft and Salesforce;
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or related fields.
