The role involves leading cross-functional teams in complex projects to mine data using modern tools and programming languages. This includes defining models to uncover patterns and predictions, creating business value, and innovation. The individual will manage relationships with business partners to evaluate and foster data-driven innovation, providing domain-specific expertise in cross-organization projects/initiatives. Insights are communicated effectively through visualizations, ensuring business value and innovation potential are conveyed.

Key responsibilities include identifying business problems, developing data-driven solutions, preparing and presenting literature and presentations for peer review and publication, and assuring insights are communicated regularly and effectively. Additionally, the role requires leveraging recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and overall data systems leadership to influence decisions of executive business leadership, development partners, and industry standards groups. Guidance, training, and mentoring are also provided to less experienced staff members.

Required qualifications include a four-year or graduate degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, data science, or a related discipline, as well as commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence. Typically 10+ years of work experience, preferably in data analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning, or a related field is required. Programming language certifications (SQL, Python, or similar) are preferred. Broad knowledge of machine learning, statistical modeling, and data mining is essential, along with expertise in building robust systems based on machine learning techniques. A track record of work in generative AI and machine learning development and deployment is also necessary.

Desirable skills include cloud deployments on AWS/Azure, experience leveraging models from repositories such as Hugging Face, and deep learning frameworks like Pytorch and Tensorflow. Excellent software development skills with fast prototyping in Python are also important. Cross-organizational skills include technical leadership, effective communication, results orientation, learning agility, digital fluency, and customer centricity.
