Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Medical Affairs Brazil will be responsible for managing, designing, implementing, and evaluating the execution of medical affairs activities in Brazil. This will include advisory boards, medical education initiatives, and programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of healthcare providers in the field of rare diseases. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to disseminate knowledge on all diseases comprehended by our pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage activities of the medical affairs area to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to develop educational content and materials.
  • Analyze clinical data and patient outcomes to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Maintain high-level scientific and medical expertise on relevant disease areas.
  • Serve as a medical affairs reviewer for promotional materials and non-promotional scientific materials.
  • Participate in scientific engagement with external communities, KOLs, and patient advocacy groups.
  • Align and collaborate with Senior Director, Medical Affairs Brazil on Ultragenyx's strategy and guidelines.
  • Partner cross-functionally on assigned programs with key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all medical affairs activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a focus on medical management or leadership roles working in rare diseases.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in conducting clinical trials.
  • Proven manager experience and ability to work independently and as a member of an integrated team.
  • Advanced presentation skills and professional interaction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others at varying professional levels.
  • Track record of forming compliant partnerships with commercial colleagues.
  • Ability to think creatively and efficiently.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Travel will be required (approx. 20-30% time).
