Key Leader in Machine Learning Engineering

Job Overview:

The Lead Machine Learning Engineer will be responsible for leading a team of experts in building innovative personalization systems. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to drive business impact.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead a high-performing team of 3-5 machine learning engineers to design and develop cutting-edge personalization systems.
  • Develop and implement multi-stage ranking systems (retrieval → ranking → re-ranking) that deliver exceptional results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, data science, and engineering, to define the technical roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Drive improvements in model quality, system reliability, and development velocity through hands-on contributions and strategic decision-making.
  • Establish best practices for model development and deployment, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
  • Partner with stakeholders to communicate technical vision and drive project delivery.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with 2+ years of leadership experience in technical teams.
  • Deep expertise in large-scale personalization systems, including modern architectures such as two-tower, transformer-based, and graph neural networks.
  • Strong system design skills for ML infrastructure, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and drive technical decisions, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships and project delivery, with a focus on business outcomes.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience in adtech, e-commerce, or content platforms, with a focus on personalization and recommendation systems.
  • Published papers or significant machine learning contributions, showcasing expertise and innovation.
  • Experience with multi-objective optimization and reinforcement learning for personalization.
