Technical UI Designer

We are seeking a skilled Technical UI Designer to contribute to the creation of engaging user experiences in Fortnite.

About the Role
  • Job Description: Design and implement UI systems in game engines, creating rapid prototypes, layouts, and visual scripting.
  • Collaboration: Work with UX Designers, UI Artists, and Engineers to ship features to millions of users worldwide.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensure assets/UI are within memory and CPU constraints, implementing best practices for performance optimization.
  • Debugging: Debug blueprints/UMG issues quickly using various tools and techniques.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3-6+ years of experience building UI and experiences in game engines and across multiple platforms.
  • Shipping Features: 2+ years of experience shipping updates and new features to a user base on a regular cadence.
  • Game Engine Expertise: Professional experience using game engines (Custom engine, Unity, UE4, Lumberyard, Snowdrop, etc.) and preparing game assets for them.
  • Problem-Solving: A logical problem solver with attention to detail.
  • Communication: The ability to 'translate' communication across departments and have empathy for non-technical team members.
