Job Title: Accounting Manager AVP

Job Description:

As an accounting manager, you will be responsible for leading the month-end close process, preparing and submitting reports to local regulators, and balancing sheet reconciliation processes. You will also be involved in data manipulation, general ledger journals calculation, financial and regulatory reporting, automation of month-end process projects, compliance with internal and external regulations, group reporting data production, stakeholder management, and participation in local product discussions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-end close process;
  • Preparation and submission of reports to local regulator;
  • Balancing Sheet Reconciliation Process ('BSRS');
  • Data manipulation and GL review processes/projects;
  • General ledger journals calculation and raising;
  • Financial and regulatory reporting;
  • Automation and streamlining of month-end process projects;
  • Compliance with internal and external regulations and procedures;
  • Group reporting data production and review;
  • Liaising with business and other support areas;
  • Stakeholder management and ad-hoc analysis;
  • Participation in local product discussions;
  • Contribution to system changes and transformation projects;
  • New reporting requirements implementation;
  • Auditor liaison and facilitation.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must have a qualified accountant degree, IFRS and Bacen GAAP proficiency, understanding of HSBC's activities, products, processes and systems, data analysis skills, medium to advanced Excel and database knowledge, excellent communication, time management and prioritization skills, self-motivation, enthusiasm and rapid learning capability, experience working in an accounting role for a financial institution, English and portuguese proficiency, and accounting degree.
