Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to lead our team in designing and implementing cutting-edge data models and database architecture for a long-term data modernization project.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, techniques, and technologies, as well as experience with cloud-based architectures and data migration to cloud-native solutions.

This role requires a hands-on approach, collaborating closely with the Solution Architect and Data Engineers, and driving performance enhancements, building pipelines, and ensuring data integrity, quality, and accessibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data models and database architecture for a long-term data modernization project;
  • Drive performance enhancements and build pipelines to support data migration strategies;
  • Collaborate closely with the Solution Architect and Data Engineers to ensure seamless integration and effective data governance;
  • Implement efficient data solutions aligned with project goals, focusing on migrating from fragmented legacy systems to an integrated data environment using open-source technologies and cloud-native solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience in data architecture and database management, particularly with PostgreSQL (AWS Arora or Citus), Snowflake, and SQL Server;
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and techniques, including ETL tools and orchestration technologies such as AWS Glue, Apache Airflow, and dbt;
  • Strong expertise in cloud-based architectures (preferably AWS) and experience with data migration to cloud-native solutions;
  • Hands-on experience with data migration and transformation projects;
  • Familiarity with data governance tools like DataHub and data validation frameworks like Great Expectations.
