At JumpCloud, we are seeking a skilled Chief Data Architect to lead our data engineering efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture and be able to design, implement, and maintain large-scale data systems.
About the Role:
The Senior Data Engineer will have a crucial role on the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team, an internal, cross-functional analytics team that supports stakeholders across all company business units. The primary responsibility of this role is to drive JumpCloud core reporting by developing data pipelines, curating and modeling data, and designing databases to enable insights and self-service across the analytics team and organization.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data architectures to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
- Leverage advanced knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and database design to develop scalable data solutions.
- Collaborate with analytics teams and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and provide actionable recommendations.
- Mentor and grow junior analysts and engineers to help them achieve their potential.
- Support team project management, strategic decision-making, and long-term planning.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering, database design, data modeling, and data governance.
Requirements:
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational databases; Snowflake experience highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, data infrastructure, data pipelines, and ELT processes.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python (numpy, pandas).
- Intermediate analytical skills and passion for data storytelling and quantitative analysis.
- Understanding of one or more business Intelligence / data visualization tools; Tableau experience highly preferred.
- Strong mentoring skills.
- Effective stakeholder management skills and communication skills.
- Effective project management and organizational skills; Agile experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
