System Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to join our operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to take on new challenges and responsibilities in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Linux system infrastructure. They will also develop, maintain, and optimize Ansible playbooks and roles for configuration management and deployment automation.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Designing and implementing Linux system infrastructure, primarily Red Hat and Oracle Linux.
  • Developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks and roles for configuration management and deployment automation.
  • Performing advanced Linux patching, security updates, and OS hardening.
  • Writing and maintaining Bash scripts for automation and system maintenance tasks.
  • Administering and supporting Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex Linux system issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating with DevOps, application, and security teams to ensure consistent environments.
  • Managing source code and configuration using GIT repositories.
  • Monitoring system performance, reliability, and security using industry-standard tools.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in Linux System Administration (Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Oracle Linux).
  • Strong proficiency in Ansible, including custom module development and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced bash scripting skills for automation and system tasks.
  • Proficient in GIT for version control and collaboration.
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning and patch management.
  • Deep understanding of Linux patching strategies, kernel upgrades, and OS lifecycle management.
  • Experience working in secure, enterprise IT environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
