Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

Our client, Adilstone Group, is in search of a skilled Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to oversee the various departmental functions within the Innovation Manufacturing sector. The primary goal is to guarantee the seamless production of high-quality products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations. This includes managing work schedules and liaising with customer service teams regarding client projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate directly with department leads to ensure operational efficiency and adequate staffing and equipment to meet production timelines.
  • Monitor the activities of all manufacturing divisions by coordinating with Department Leads and Service Representatives. Prioritize job completion and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate urgent tasks.
  • Review customer billing prior to dispatch to ensure accuracy and submit for final approval.
  • Work alongside Department Leads to maintain workflow consistency and meet project deadlines, making adjustments as required based on departmental and customer needs.
  • Ensure that Department Leads maintain accurate inventory counts to facilitate smooth job execution.
  • Participate in and ensure that Department Leads conduct regular safety meetings within their respective areas.
  • Review job logs to confirm that completed tasks are properly documented and manage any backlog effectively.
  • Collaborate with Department Leads to uphold quality standards in production, addressing any issues with the Quality Department as necessary.
  • Act as a substitute for the Director of Manufacturing during their absence.
  • Partner with other managers, supervisors, and staff to ensure a cohesive workflow across departments.
  • Oversee the procurement of tools, materials, and equipment within departmental budgets to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are maintained in optimal condition for effective operation, coordinating repairs as needed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports and provide necessary corrective feedback in collaboration with management and Human Resources.
  • Maintain clear and accurate communication with employees, clients, and vendors.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical fields is advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum of seven years of general shop experience.
  • At least four years in a supervisory or leadership role within a machine shop or similar environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent time management skills with the capacity to juggle multiple high-priority tasks.
  • Proficient in personal computer usage and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to foster positive employee-management relations and cultivate a strong team environment to meet customer expectations.
  • Capable of promoting teamwork and directing employee efforts.
  • Skilled in training and mentoring staff.
  • Competent in reading, writing, and understanding complex instructions.
  • Ability to grasp, execute, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills for non-routine tasks.
  • Willingness to travel overnight as required.
