Job Title: Director, Payment Partnerships, LatAm

We are seeking an experienced commercial leader to join our team as Director, Payment Partnerships, LatAm. This role will be based in São Paulo, working alongside team members across Brazil and Mexico.

About the Role:

As a commercial problem solver, you will possess deep expertise in the cards and local payments markets in the region. You will leverage our reputation, volumes, clients, and investors to address challenges and build a unique payment network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead two teams, one for developing new and growing existing payment partnerships, including Local Payment Methods and Acquiring banks, and the second responsible for the optimization of Acquirer performance and Chargeback management.
  • Coach and develop team members, developing them individually and creating a strong team environment.
  • Identify regional projects and commercial opportunities to set and raise the bar of Payment Networks in LatAm.
  • Create new revenue lines from developing new payment partnerships.
  • Reduce and contain cost by measuring and negotiating with existing Payment Partnerships and ensure cost avoidance by maintaining compliance with local scheme and payment method rules.
  • Drive conversion and authorization levels by optimistic volume direction across multiple acquirers.
  • Support the VP, Payment Partnerships and senior leadership by providing relevant reports, data, and insights to existing systems and processes.
  • Negotiate and close new business contracts, taking into consideration all aspects of a negotiation, including contracts management, pricing, deliverable conditions, timing, and others.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with payment partners, including networks, financial institutions, and industry providers, including prioritization, evaluation of new initiatives, and ongoing partner management.
  • Understand our competitive position in the region and implement programs to further and improve payments products, services, and strategic objectives.
  • Research and analyze industry trends and opportunities for us to further distinguish our position as it relates to our payments products and Go To Market plans.
  • Identify payments regulatory changes and ensure compliance to new requirements as a foundation for future customer propositions.
Requirements:
  • More than 10 years of proven experience in the Cards and Local Payments industry.
  • Currently working in a similar position, you are familiar with the market conditions, regulatory requirements.
  • Must have experience navigating inside financial services companies, mainly payment providers, with a solid business development track record.
  • Used to working in an international environment.
  • Solid understanding of doing business in Brazil and other countries in Latin America.
  • Fluent English and Spanish a must.
