**Elephant Caregiver Opportunity**


Global Sanctuary for Elephants is seeking a dedicated and compassionate elephant caregiver to join our team at the Elephant Sanctuary Brazil.


The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of elephants in a natural habitat sanctuary, providing care and support to these magnificent animals.


As an elephant caregiver, you will be responsible for:


  • Cleaning, maintenance, and husbandry of the elephant care facilities, medical care center, habitats, and all associated facilities
  • Preparing and serving food and fresh water to the elephants
  • Providing regular monitoring, reporting, and recording of elephant health and behavior
  • Participating in training and veterinary care treatments using positive reinforcement and protected contact methods
  • Assisting with the care and treatment of other resident animals
  • Providing updates on the daily activities, physical challenges, and emotional growth of the elephants through blog and social media posts

To be considered for this role, you should have:


  • A valid driver's license
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform other types of physical work
  • The ability to work outdoors in all conditions, including rain and extreme temperatures
  • Fluent English or Portuguese language skills
  • Previous experience working with elephants or in a similar animal care role is preferred but not required
