A100 ROW Servicos De Dados Brasil Ltda. - B71 is seeking a highly skilled Regional Data Center Mechanical Engineer to join our Colocation Region Engineering team in the Americas. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the design and operation of our data centers meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Site Assessments: Conduct thorough site assessments against AWS standards for collocation data centers and telecommunications facilities within the region, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Risk Analysis and Availability Calculations: Perform detailed risk analysis and availability calculations for vendor-owned and operated collocation data center's infrastructure to determine fit-for-use/fit-for-service for AWS cloud compute and networking services.
- Design and Specification Requirements: Influence AWS' design and specification requirements to meet our business needs for AWS colocation products, ensuring seamless integration with our cloud services.
- Root-Cause Failure Analysis: Investigate and document root-cause failure analysis associated with infrastructure and equipment failures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Work with vendors and local agencies having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and codes, maintaining a strong reputation for our company.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with engineering, construction, operations, and commissioning teams to properly test and validate the installation, operation, and performance of critical electrical/mechanical/fire suppression/controls systems/structural systems, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
- Travel and Site Visits: Travel to Data Center sites as required - International & Domestic (up to 50%) to ensure hands-on involvement and expertise in site assessments, risk analysis, and design implementation.
- Education: Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline.
- Experience: Cumulative 3+ years of focused experience in Data Center or Carrier-class Telecommunications design, engineering, and/or operations and maintenance (O&M) of data center critical environment infrastructure or 5 years commensurate industry or military experience in lieu of degree.
- Advanced Experience: 5+ years cumulative data center design experience.
- Project Management: Project management professional; PMP or similar.
