Job Description

As a senior software engineering leader, you will be responsible for guiding and developing a team of talented Python engineers. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that your team members are growing professionally, delivering high-quality work, and finding satisfaction in their careers.

The role requires sound technical leadership, leveraging a solid background in software development to challenge and grow team members. You will have the opportunity to influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery, and work with your team on direction and execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a team of Python engineers working remotely in global locations
  • Hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
  • Demonstrate sound engineering principles by directly contributing code yourself
  • Plan and manage progress on agreed goals and projects
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering and operations teams
  • Coordinate with management and internal and external stakeholders or customers
  • Advocate for modern, agile software development practices
  • Help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices
Required Skills & Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, Linux administration, and software automation. Experience with Python and its ecosystem is highly desirable.

Leadership & Management: Proven track record of leading and developing software engineering teams, with a focus on growth, quality, and satisfaction.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
